![]() The update dates: These dated ones were applied at once. Actually I am speaking of three different VMs, all of which experienced the same phenomenon as summarized. The result was that there was no hanging and no other problem (what I always got after an update so far).Įnvironment: My Manjaro is a virtual machine running in VMware Workstation (17.0.2 and 17.5.0 for Windows, the latter being the current). To confirm this, I got my “pure” copy of VM from archive (i.e., the one that is never used and to which no bad thing has ever happened) and repeated the update process sans install of kernel 6.6. My problem was the new kernel 6.6, and reverting to the use of kernel 6.1 fixed it.My real worry would be that I am storing up trouble for later somehow, one for which a trick does not exist. Having to do this for every update would be inconvenient, but I could live with that. just after update, a start hung on the “three dots.” After I let it hang for 10 minutes, interrupted it, and started again, I got 10 successful starts in a row. I just updated one of the affected machines for the update, and the same thing repeated. Can there be any explanation for this? Below I’ll give more detail. 10 minutes) and then interrupt, subsequent starts will always be successful. But if I let the machine hang at the “three dots” for a long time (e.g. If I interrupt and restart, there is a roughly 50/50 chances of getting stuck at the same phase again or booting successfully. ![]() ![]()
